Interface Research of the Original and Translated Text (LITCIT)

The LITCIT Center aims at creating an organised and institutional setting for the following areas:

  • Comparative translation studies;
  • Terminology studies;
  • Romanian contributions in teaching English for Specific Purposes;
  • Specialised discourse seen from a cultural perspective.

LITCIT Center will:

  • get involved in facilitating cooperation with the teaching staff, researchers and students from various national and foreign universities, cultural and research institutions and professional associations with similar interests in order to obtain national and international research grants;
  • establish, at the same time, an adequate forum to support innovating ideas, original works, new research results, by organising scientific events with regional, national and international participation;
  • promote its members’ involvement in communicating their individual and team research in publications with a recognized national and international impact;
  • stimulate engagement in cultural actions such as conferences, workshops, symposia, book launches and other dissemination events.

Both at present and in the future, the LITCIT Center will have in view the following:

  • To prepare young researchers and support committed researchers for top range scientific achievements;
  • To involve in initiating and obtaining research projects or grants of an applied nature with an impact at the local, regional, national and European level;
  • To expand research on intercultural communication and cross-linguistic studies;
  • To develop information resources and infrastructure.
